Severe Dry Skin During Pregnancy

Itchy skin during pregnancy?

Im 28weeks into my pregnancy. My skin has become pretty dry & itchy since i discovered i was pregnant. However the situation worsen lately when my face become so dry that it stings when i put on my facial lotion & moisturiser after washing. Any idea whether this is severe? Or how to treat the dryness?

Itchy skin is very common during pregnancy but if its driving you mad try changing your washing powder and/or fabric conditioner, or just put them on an extra rinse. Slather on the moisturiser after bathing, get some pure aloe vera gel, it really is good. Also, get a water spray, water hydrates and will also stop an itch if a blast of cold water hits it.

If it becomes really severe then speak to your midwife, there is a pregnancy related liver problem that is potentially very serious.
