I've been told by a doctor that I have herpes 1, but I've never been sexually active?

I've had what I thought was an infected pimple near my my mouth ( not on my mouth). Then I did a little research on Webmd and thought maybe it was a boil. Its been a week and discharge started to come out (yellowish, really nasty) So then I got worried. over the weekend another one appeared on my nose, started out as a pimple then it got worse. Well I've always had acne and breakouts they mostly get big and infected but they heal after a while. This time it didn't so I went to the doctor and as soon as he saw me he said it was herpes type 1. I asked him how since I've never been sexually active or kissed any one before. So he will do a blood test. Question is, is there a possibility that it could be something else other than herpes 1?

Oral herpes is often passed by just kissing. The name of the virus doesn't indicate if you have had oral sex or have been sexually active. You can get oral herpes on your mouth being innocently kissed by some one that has cold sores which is what is caused by oral herpes. It just means you have herpes on you mouth. HSV1 is also very common to have, 50-80 percent of the population has cold sores on their mouth, but not every one that has it gets a sore or blister.
BUT if the doctor didn't actually test you with a blood test then the doctor could be wrong if they've only taken a look at it. There is always a possibility that it could be some thing else, like an infected mole, or even just acne. Oral herpes usually comes with some uncomfortable or even pain full itching, burning and or tingling symptoms. If it's relatively painless then it may not be herpes.
